Cano grew up in Southern California, but claims the majority of her influences come from the years she spent living in New York City. She moved there at 18 and fell in love with the downtown music scene. On the Lower East Side, Cano began to define the sound she is recognized for as having whimsical melodies, catchy hooks and a voice that leaves crammed audiences at a stand still.
